Doody's 5 Star! Review "Although not unlike the promotion of community/public health elsewhere, the Canadian initiatives seem more comprehensive and expansive. Many of the concepts are basic to population health and are important for the knowledge base of both students and practitioners. One particularly important section reviewed the determinants of health, disease, and injury prevention. The quaternary prevention model, which includes primordial prevention, added to the classical primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention model to attempt to prevent modifiable risk factors for disease and injury from occurring. Educational principles are reviewed in this book including how to engage adult learners. Processes of bringing credible, current, and usable information through social media strategies are addressed. The editors point to the necessity of improved eHealth literacy to include science, information, media, and computer literacy along with traditional health literacy and numeracy. The most current edition has very recent information and data; therefore, it is an appropriate update." - Frances Sparti, DNP, MSN, BSN for Doody's Book Review Service
